Kim Cobak McQuillen, mother of his girlfriend Meredith, expressed her sadness in a Facebook post, writing:

Our Meredith lost the love of her life,”her person” today. Completely unexpected.
Parker Bard, age 23, healthy, fit, athlete and the kindest soul you will ever meet. He was a huge part of our family.

He was the love of her life and she said she will never date or have another boyfriend and now hes gone. Parker was perfect. Always there for her thru everything, he never let her down. God took the best today but we know he is in Heaven,” she added.

He also leaves behind his best friends, Austin, Rachel Wessel, his beloved dog Charlie, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Parker is preceded in demise by his father, Curtis Bard, and grandparents, Darlys Ugland, Bernice Bard, and Richard Bard.

Born on May 15, 2002, in Omaha, Nebraska, Parker was a standout baseball player.

In fact, just recently, he graduated from the University of Dayton, where he studied education. Parker had just finished his training to become an EMT.

Dayton Flyers Baseball shared a tribute post, writing:

Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of Parker Bard as the Dayton Baseball community mourns his passing.

Everyone who knew him could see how excited he was about starting a new chapter working with the fire department. However, his dreams were cut short.

Above everything else, baseball was the passion that defined so much of who he was. He loved the game deeply, both as a player and as someone who followed it closely.

On the field, he preferred pitching, catching, or playing third base, and over the years, he played for several teams, including the Westfield High School Rocks, the Indiana Nitro, the University of Dayton Flyers, the Kokomo Jackrabbits, and the Ocean State Waves.

Beyond competing, Parker found real joy in coaching and mentoring kids at baseball camps, sharing his knowledge and love for the sport with young players everywhere he could.

Apart from baseball, Parker had other interests that brought him happiness, too.

He cheered hard for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, and he enjoyed getting out on the golf course, whether playing a round or just watching others.

Music was another comfort for him, especially songs by the Eagles, Frank Sinatra, and Bill Withers that he would listen to often. Likewise, he loved cooking for his family.

A service to celebrate Parker’s life is planned for noon on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, located at 17102 Spring Mill Road in Westfield.

Friends and family can gather for a visitation starting at 10 a.m. that same morning until the service begins at the church.

During this difficult time, we extend our condolences to Parker’s girlfriend, mother, siblings, friends, and extended family.

Rest Easy, Parker Bard!
