Oromocto, New Brunswick, is mourning the loss of Benjamin Eric Noseworthy, a cherished youth baseball and hockey coach, who passed away on September 27, 2026, after a brave fight against Glioblastoma.
At just 39 years old, Ben left behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy that touched everyone who knew him.
His battle with cancer was fought with the same strength and spirit he brought to every part of his life, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Born in December 1985 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Iris and Wayne Noseworthy, Ben grew up alongside his brother Philip.
The family settled in Oromocto, where Ben spent most of his childhood, forming deep roots in the town he would later serve so passionately.
He graduated from high school in 2004 as class president, a role that highlighted his natural ability to lead and connect with others.
After high school, Ben earned a degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in 2010, setting the stage for a career dedicated to health, fitness, and community.
Ben’s professional life was characterized by his dedication to making a positive impact. He spent nearly 12 years managing the fitness facility at CFB Gagetown, where he supported both military personnel and residents in their wellness journeys.
Later, he served as the General Manager of the Gage Golf & Curling Club for four years, creating a welcoming space for members to enjoy.
In his final two years, Ben took on the role of Tourism and Communications Officer for the Town of Oromocto, promoting the community he loved through various events and outreach initiatives.
His work was more than a job; it was a reflection of his passion for bringing people together.
He poured his heart into coaching youth baseball and hockey, serving as the U7 Director for the Oromocto Minor Hockey Association.
Ben loved mentoring young athletes, teaching them not just sports but also the values of teamwork and perseverance.
His kindness and generosity were boundless, and he was always ready to volunteer or lend a helping hand to a friend.
Whether organizing community events or simply sharing a laugh, Ben made Oromocto a better place, and his impact was felt by all.
At the heart of Ben’s life was his family.
He was married to Tara Noseworthy, and together they raised two sons, Cutler and Watson, whom he considered his most incredible pride and joy.
Ben had a deep love for the outdoors, often heading out to hunt or fish, though Tara would sometimes tease him about his passion for these hobbies.
But nothing surpassed his role as a father. He cherished every moment with his boys, from outdoor adventures to quiet family evenings, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
Ben’s outgoing and caring nature made him a friend to everyone, turning casual encounters into lifelong friendships filled with warmth and humor.

His brother Philip shared a heartfelt tribute:
“Ben, our hearts are shattered as we say goodbye to you—my brother, my friend, and one of the most important people in my life. Life will never be the same without you. You were an incredible husband and father to Tara and the boys, and I promise to do everything I can to ensure they grow up knowing how much you loved them and how proud you were to be their dad. Your spirit will live on through them, and I know you’ll be watching over them every step of the way. Mom and Dad are heartbroken, but I know you’ll be their guardian angel, wrapping them in your love from above. Thank you for all the memories, laughter, and love you gave us. Rest easy now, Ben—we’ll take it from here. Until we meet again, we love you forever.”

“The world lost a great man, a mentor, and a role model. I’d always laugh when Ben texted me, ‘I need ya again,’ every time he tackled a home reno involving electrical work. I was helping with his kitchen when he learned of his diagnosis, and it was hard to tell anything was wrong—he was still the same Ben. His strength was inspiring; he even called himself ‘Benny Armstrong.’ My heart aches for Cutler, Watson, and Tara.”

“Ben was one of the kindest people anyone could meet. No words can fully capture who he was or the impact he had. His priorities were clear—his family, his friends, and the Oromocto community. He will be deeply missed, but his warmth, generosity, and love will never be forgotten.”
Blair Kennedy shared:
“Love ya, bud. Ben Noseworthy, I’ll never forget you and the laughs we shared. I’m so grateful and honored to have worked with you and become the friends we did over the years. What a time we had. Gone way too soon, bud. You were one of a kind. Rest easy.”
Ben is survived by his wife Tara, sons Cutler and Watson, parents Iris and Wayne, brother Philip, and extended family members who will carry his memory forward.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at on Thursday, October 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Friends, family, and community members are invited to come together, share stories, and honor the joy Ben brought to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, a cause close to their hearts. Donations can be made online at the foundation’s website.
Ben Noseworthy lived a life full of purpose, love, and connection.
Though his time was far too short, his legacy of kindness, community spirit, and devotion to his family will continue to inspire Oromocto and beyond.
