Sean Dicer, 53, once employed as a teacher in the Highlands School District, has been jailed in Brackenridge after being accused of sexually assaulting and grooming children.

Police allege that Dicer abused two boys, beginning when one was just 11 or 12 years old, after first meeting him at a park at age 8.

The abuse reportedly continued into 2026, with investigators uncovering Cash App records showing Dicer paid one victim more than $6,000 to remain silent.

The district confirmed he resigned in 2026, and he is now being held at Allegheny County Jail following his December 4 arrest.

, a parent in the Highlands community, reposted the message originally shared by STK, Embrace Life Media.

In her post, she expressed shock and deep concern, noting that Dicer had once taught her son and was involved in photographing local school sports events such as kids’ football and cheering games.

Bizic highlighted that she had long felt uneasy around him and now regrets that her instincts proved correct.

Her response conveyed sympathy for the victims and their families, underscoring the tragedy of the case.

On the other hand, detailed the charges against Dicer and concluded with a broader question about how communities can prevent grooming before it goes unnoticed.

Community members shared their perspectives in response to the post, highlighting their own concerns and suggestions.

One commenter stressed prevention through education, saying,

“Have a speaker come in and talk about sexual abuse and body safety… Have someone present to students and teachers about the signs of predators.”

Another emphasized parental responsibility, sharing their personal experience and stating,

Parents need to talk to their kids about what to do in these situations, how its not normal, and don’t believe them when they lie and say their parents will be mad if they told them. Sswhat my mom did. Tol me to tell her if I think anybody was lookin at my willy. We were in an elevator and I said “mom he’s lookin at my willy” he wasn’t but shit he was lookin down so yeah

. Moral of the story. TALK TO UR KIDS PARENTS DONT BE COMPLACENT!

Others questioned systemic safeguards, with one remarking,

I’m glad he was caught. But they will have you go through all these clearances sometimes even pay for them out of pocket just to be giving a job in schools. So why we keep testing before the job? Waste of money. How about stop the clearances it proves nothing time and time again.

This case highlights the urgent need for education on body safety, open parent–child communication, and systemic reforms.

Once a teacher with this type of behavior, now arrested, sparks concern about the safety of children within schools.

As many people are expressing shock and sorrow, their reactions highlight the urgent need for awareness and prevention.
