Lakishama Lewis alleges that her 14-year-old grandson, KaDren Lewis, was beaten down at a playoff game in their own hometown.

He had blunt force trauma to the head, fractures to the facial bones, nasal cavities & eye sockets.

High school sports are meant to be a highlight of student life where they get a chance to build teamwork, school spirit, and healthy habits.

However, sometimes the heat of competition boils over, and fights break out on the field or in the stands.

These clashes often start from a single moment, and within a short moment, emotions can take over, leading to shoving, yelling, and punches.

The consequences are severe, leading to suspension and letting their team down. Most importantly, students can be physically and emotionally harmed.

Players must respect the game, the officials, and their opponents. Coaches and parents play a huge role by modeling good sportsmanship and calming players down instead of fueling their anger.

A grandmother’s worst fear became a reality during a local high school playoff football game in Rapides Parish.

Lakishama Lewis was a regular attendee and season ticket holder at Rapides Parish School Football Game sporting events.

Lewis had just dropped off her 14-year-old grandson, KaDren, for what should have been a fun night.

Instead, she received a terrifying phone call urging her to get to the game immediately because her grandson was “being beat down.”

Rushing back, she found her grandson severely injured.

According to Lewis, Kadren suffered a brutal beating that resulted in blunt force trauma to his head, fractures to his facial bones, nasal cavities, and eye sockets. She counts herself blessed that he survived the attack.

Lewis took to Facebook to share her family’s trauma, explaining she felt compelled to speak out.

She revealed the painful context that she is already raising Kadren and his siblings after burying their father seven years ago.

This has to Stop because I REFUSE 2 Bury another kid💯‼️🙏🙏🙏

The incident has raised urgent questions about student safety at school events.

Lewis is now calling for increased protection for all children so that no other family has to endure a similar nightmare.

So when does the Violence StOP! We can our children go to events and make it home alive! We were Blessed on last night that he is still Alive.

Lewis’s post gained wide attention, and netizens felt sorry for her and her family.
