Robert Brent Niceforo, affectionately known as Robby, “Mr. Nice,” or “Coach Nice,” passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 51.

The beloved coach Robby is survived by his wife, Gracemarie Niceforo, and their children, Christian and Olivia Niceforo.

Robby’s greatest joy was his family. He was always there for his kids, whether cheering at Olivia’s games or enjoying country concerts with Christian.

Following his demise, his daughter, Olivia, penned a lengthy tribute post, writing:

I can proudly say there is no one I would’ve rather called dad. I’ll never forget the constant fun and laughter. All the good times. But, most of all, your presence. You brought light into every room you stepped in. Your spirit will live on in all of us, and we’ll carry that light forward.

Robby also leaves behind his mother, Judith Russo, and her husband, Chuck; his father, Robert Niceforo, and his wife, Evelyn; his brother, Kevin Niceforo, and his fiancée, Suzanne Gustafson; his sister, Gina Niceforo; and several family members.

Likewise, Robby is also survived by his sister-in-law, Karen, brother-in-law, Carl, and sister-in-law, Maribeth Crupi.

Born on October 9, 1973, in Lawrence, MA, Robby grew up in Methuen as the son of Judith Russo and Robert Niceforo.

As a kid, he loved playing sports. He found his passion for wrestling at Methuen High School, where he graduated in 1991.

Robby went on to Syracuse University and earned a degree in education. During his time at the university, he stayed active as a wrestler and rugby player.

For over 20 years, Robby taught math at Lawrence Vocational High School and coached cross-country. Likewise, he also coached wrestling and football at Lawrence High School.

Outside of work, Robby had many passions. He enjoyed camping, cooking, and all kinds of sports.

Music was a big part of his life, from classic rock to country, and he loved to dance.

In his younger days, he was a talented break dancer, often showcasing his skills at family gatherings.

Family and friends are welcome to attend visiting hours at Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, on Monday, September 15, 2026, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA. The burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Robby’s wife, kids, friends, and extended family.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Coach Robert Brent Niceforo!
