Dalton Brain, 14, is an avid basketball player, despite the many medical challenges he has faced since birth.
He enjoys playing the sport as part of his daily activities and uses it as a way to stay active, have fun, and build confidence.
Basketball, along with his love for other sports like Alabama Crimson Tide football and the Florida Panthers, is an important part of his life.
Dalton Had A Brain Tumor, Which Was Surgically Removed When He Was 18 Months Old!
is a 14-year-old boy who was born prematurely at just 26 weeks, weighing 830 grams.
He has overcome significant health challenges, including a brain tumor, club feet, and a tracheostomy.
Despite these early struggles, he has led a remarkable life marked by milestones and memorable experiences.
A former micropreemie, he has overcome numerous medical challenges.
These include a brain tumor resection at 18 months that caused facial paralysis, club feet requiring serial casting and five surgeries, and a tracheostomy that lasted until he was nearly five.
Despite having some intellectual disabilities and reading at a second-grade level, Dalton is known as one of the happiest kids.
He loves Alabama Crimson Tide football, the Florida Panthers, basketball, books, board games, March Madness, swimming, music, the Grinch, and spending time with his memaw.
Recently, Dalton and his family embarked on a 2,174-mile trip from Cooper City, Florida, to Washington, D.C.
During the trip, he attended the 2026 White House Easter Egg Roll, where he enjoyed storytime in the Kennedy Garden.
Additionally, he met prominent figures, whom he described as “the best day ever.”
Academically, Dalton has just completed 6th grade and is preparing for 7th grade, with his family celebrating his achievements and growth.
Health challenges continue, as he is being treated for conditions such as SIBO and an ileus.
His family vigilantly monitors his symptoms while seeking ways to ease his pain.
Additionally, his family has organized fundraising efforts to support Dalton’s medical care and ongoing expenses.
Throughout it all, Dalton’s story has inspired many, highlighting the love and support of his family and his determination to live life fully despite the medical hurdles he faces.
