While Grayson Allen shines in the NBA, his brother Tonan Ferrell excels behind the front desk at Loews Hotels.
Grayson James Allen has established himself as one of the most recognized players in professional basketball.
The Phoenix Suns guard began his journey at Duke University, where he played a pivotal role in securing the 2015 NCAA national championship.
During his freshman year, Allen scored 16 crucial points in the championship game, earning praise from Coach Mike Krzyzewski for carrying the team when they trailed by nine points.
Over his four-year college career, Allen accumulated 1,996 points, ranking 12th on Duke’s all-time scoring list while maintaining impressive shooting percentages across all categories.
The Utah Jazz selected Allen with the 21st overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, launching his professional career.
He has since played for multiple teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks, before joining the Phoenix Suns in September 2026.
Allen’s exceptional three-point shooting ability has defined his NBA career, culminating in leading the entire league with a remarkable 46.1% three-point shooting percentage during his first season with Phoenix.
In April 2026, the Suns recognized his value by signing him to a four-year, $70 million extension, cementing his role as a key contributor to the team’s success.

While Grayson Allen commands attention on basketball courts nationwide, his adopted brother Tonan Ferrell has carved out his own professional path in the hospitality and security industries.
Ferrell currently as an Overnight Front Desk Agent at Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando Resort, a position he has held since December 2026.
His journey in hospitality began years earlier with various positions that built his foundation in customer service excellence.
From July 2019 to June 2026, Ferrell served as a Guest Experience Expert at Marriott International in the Greater Orlando area.
Prior to this role, he worked as a Recreation Coordinator for Marriott International from June to August 2017 in Metro Jacksonville, where he gained experience in organizing guest activities and entertainment programs.
Ferrell’s hospitality experience also includes a 15-month position as a Bellperson at Loews Royal Pacific Resort from October 2026 to December 2026.
Beyond hospitality, Ferrell has built substantial experience in security services.
Since February 2026, he has worked part-time as a Security Guard for Orlando Plus Security & Event Staffing in Orlando, Florida.
Additionally, Ferrell worked as a Security Officer for Weiser Security Services, Inc. from April 2026 to January 2026.
Ferrell has also explored the insurance industry, working as a Licensed Insurance Agent on a contract basis with Goat Insurance Partners from October 2026 to August 2026.
Ferrell earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business, completing his studies between 2014 and 2019.
His academic background in business administration has provided him with the theoretical foundation that supports his practical work in customer service and operations management.
During his college years, Ferrell gained valuable work experience through various positions.
In the summer of 2016, he worked as a Summer Camp Concession Coordinator at Duke University for two months, an interesting connection considering his brother’s legendary status at the same institution.
In 2018, Ferrell interned as a Benefits Consultant Intern at Colonial Life in Boca Raton, Florida, working from June to August.
His early work experience also includes a four-month position as a Front End Assistant at Costco Wholesale in Metro Jacksonville from October 2013 to January 2014, where he developed foundational customer service skills in a retail environment.
