Stratford, Ontario Native and Stratford District Secondary School Multi-Sports Coach, Brian Dingman, 57, Passes Away, Leaving Behind Wife Dawn and Two Daughters

Brian Dingman, Stratford, Ontario native and longtime high school coach, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at an untimely age of 57, leaving the whole community shattered.

While his family hasn’t disclosed any information regarding the cause of his untimely demise, the whole community is mourning their beloved coach, Brian Dingman, and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Born on October 21, 1967, in Startford, Ontario, to Charles and Margaret Dingman, Brian began his athletic journey from a very young age, playing multiple sports in high school and college.

Although didn’t play professionally, he continued to touch the lives of many students as a dedicated teacher and coach.

He served as the educator and coach at Central Secondary School and Stratford District Secondary School.

Brian was a passionate coach for basketball, soccer, and track and field teams, leading his team in several victories and shaping the lives of countless students.

People also remember Brian Dingman as a kind and generous person who wouldn’t miss a chance to help anyone in need.

Brian Dingman is Survived By His Longtime Wife, Dawn, and Two Daughters, and The Whole Family

In addition to being an amazing coach and teacher, Brian Dingman was also a devoted husband to his longtime wife, Dawn Dyer Dingman, and a great father to his two daughters, Jessica and Mackenzie.

Although Dawn Dingman hasn’t shared any statement regarding the untimely death of her longtime husband, Brian Dingman, as she is currently grieving the loss, she often shares pictures of him on social media expressing her love and pride.

Brian also never missed an opportunity to express his love and pride for his wife, Dawn Dingman, and their daughters.

Furthermore, Brian instilled in both his daughters, Jessica and Mackenzie, a love and passion for sports, which has led them both to become exceptional athletes.

His eldest daughter, Mackenzie Dingman, born in 2005, played softball at Startford Northwestern Secondary School and the University of Guelph. She also played for the Stratford Flames Minor Girls Softball Association.

Similarly, his youngest daughter, Jessica Dingman, born in 2008, is a soccer and basketball player. She plays for the Stratford Revolution.

Brian’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on Saturday, September 13th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, and with a funeral service on Sunday, September 14th, at 2:00 pm at Avondale United Church in Stratford.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s memory to the Stratford Perth Humane Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
